Yes your are so right. I suggested they make a blue tooth connection so all the devices can be used at one time instead of buying 5 twines. There ears went dead. And so did their sales.
I think twine is on its way out. When support becomes spotty revenue is usually the cause. I don't believe this device evolved Like it should have. Even the dialog among users had dropped off tremendously over the last few years.
The team is shrinking because the business model or lack of it is failing or failed. You see they are charging for text messaging although it's free why is there a charge? Incidentally my twine is reporting temp change once every few days via text w…
This is my complaint and twine tech support is unable to resolve I am not getting my text messages as I used to. If this was a critical situation I would be in serious trouble. Twine has turned into a toy instead of a viable sensor.
Company is on the brinks of collapse. There server is not updating and tech support is not answering. I have been with this startup a year before the product was released with much fanfare.
Now the lights are dimming
I firmly believe they are considering pay for view. to charge for Internet connections but only after there is a large customer base. keep watching hope I'm wrong
yes I reported months ago on the inconsistent performance of twine reporting simple temperature change. I cautioned users to not use twine in a critical sensing task.
you are foolish to use this toy to monitor anything critical. The message sent for all sensors are not consistent. Start by monitoring your home temperature and see how inconsistent. than you will see how simple temp. is not working.
good luck
p.s you need to test your system once a month. one of my tenants unplugged the sump to use the outlet lucky testing showed it was dead and save $ 10,000 in restoration.
another suggestion use a few other numbers to send txt msgs. i suggest using yeenagers or young adults in the family. i have my nephews on alert with a txt msg if i get a warning from my twine. the chance of one number not getting through during an …
yes i would put in some kind of test to make sure you are getting constant feed back before the real thing happens (flood). I Monitor my home temp to send me an sms below 72degrees and above 74deg. you would be amazed how often i dont get txtd.
anybody using twine to monitor critical condtions should be aware that reporting is extremely inconsistan. i received a battey weakness alert eventhough twine is connected to a usb charger for the last 45days. battey waste could exceed the cost if a…
ok than supermechanical should come out and say putting our device to monitor critical situations than caveat emptor until we feel this device is more than a hobby diy device.
are you serious this device still has to be hard wired to its breakout board have they heard of bluetooth. if you want to use it as a water sensor motion and temp in diffetent locations are not possible unless you buy more twines one for each functi…
Twine is not going to be a truly viable device until it is able to send and receive bluetooth telemetry. With five sensors you need five twines. With Bluetooth sensors only one twine would be needed to connect all sensors since each one has a unique…
